Beat your best time AND your competitor to move one step closer to becoming the MARLINATOR. This FUN freestyle head-to-head, single-elimination race uses a bracket (NCAA tournament style) and is open to all ages. Younger swimmers have a slight advantage if they can drop time.

Coaches Todd and Anita will review the rules with athletes during dryland at 7PM. Make sure to check in so we know your swimmer(s) are on deck. We will start our first competition at 7:30PM.

• Athletes will swim the same distance as meets (8U swim 25; 9+ swim 50)
• One swimmer per race will have a head start so that if they each swim their best time, it will be a tie.
• Races will be a combination of 25/50 yards with time adjustments for them to touch the wall simultaneously.
• Whoever finishes the race first moves on, and the other swimmer is eliminated and moves to the cheer section.
• We will continue the races until there is just one swimmer remaining – and they will be crowned the 2025 MARLINATOR!
• We will have a tie-breaker option for each race.

We will recognize the following with prizes: Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final Four, Marlinator.
